From the first contact with Ian to the installation by Mike and Jeannot, a return visit by Thomas and Tim to tidy up some outstanding issues until the final visit by Mike and Jeannot to finalize the job, each visit was executed professionally with the utmost respect, courtesy and consideration.
Ian also dropped in at various times including the installation stage to verify everything was being done to our satisfaction.
We had quotes from 4 different Companies. MCK was not the lowest estimate but it was because of the personality of Ian and his willingness and enthusiasm to work with Terie and Stephanie that made us lean in the direction of MCK. Ian made them both feel very comfortable from the time he arrived. This was quite a challenge as Stephanie and Terie are very demanding but their concerns were met with pleasantness and respect throughout the whole process. From start until finish, everyone listened intently to our every concern and suggestion and they provided advice, based on their vast experience, every step of the way. Their advice answered many of the questions and concerns that we had. They turned what was a stressful situation for Terie and Stephanie into a relaxing and pleasant experience and it was obvious to me, as mostly an onlooker, everyone was having fun.
The decision to go with your Company was one we did not regret. Terie says her kitchen is beautiful as it is exactly as she envisioned it. It was a pleasure to deal with these five friendly, courteous and polite gentlemen. They are a great asset to your Company and because of our experience surrounding this sale and the way each aspect of the contract was met, we will do business with your Company again as we are planning on doing our bathroom next year and we will come calling at that time.

The installers did a fantastic job: they dealt with some nasty surprises that were out of their control, and they voluntarily went the extra mile in several situations – for example, the plumbing pipes that run down the wall beside the sink are now enclosed in finished oak, rather than the original ugly painted box that previously contained them. They were by far the most courteous and professional work crew that I’ve had in this house.

We are writing to express our appreciation to MCK, and especially Chris, for our new kitchen.
Last August, we set aside one full day to visit four kitchen companies, two in Halifax and two in Dartmouth, with a view to completely renovating our late-1960s kitchen. We carried with us pictures of the old kitchen and some ideas about what the new one should look like. Everything went as planned at kitchen company #1, and we came away with a good impression and a promise of a layout and quotation to follow in short order.
MCK was #2 on our list, and when we arrived we were enthusiastically greeted by Chris. Right off the bat, he appeared to be really bright, highly knowledgeable, very personable, and full of energy. He had answers for all our questions, and when we left, again we had promises of a layout and quotation to follow.
Instead of heading directly over to Dartmouth as planned, we went home to have lunch and talk things over. We had heard so many stories from friends whose renovation projects had become nightmares, and Chris seemed to be the person who might save us from our own kitchen nightmare. So, we abandoned going to kitchen companies #3 and #4 altogether, and waited for the two quotes to arrive. To make a long story short, we soon entered into a full commitment with Chris and MCK, went through many variations before settling on the final design, and then happily signed the contract. When the job was done, we had probably had a dozen different people work in our kitchen (about half from MCK) and we are pleased to say that every one of them was pleasant, courteous, and efficient, none more so than Chris. We are delighted with the final product and will certainly refer our friends to Chris at MCK in the future.

Shortly after our arrival last July, we first visited your show room at Lacewood Drive in Halifax. That is when we first met Tony. Punctual, clean and gracious, they proceeded with the tear down and reconstruction of the kitchen efficiently and rapidly.

This note is to thank you for the fine work which you and Mike's Country Kitchens did recently on our kitchen renovation and cabinetry. Overall, we're very pleased not only with the final results but with dealing with you from initial information gathering through to installation.
While we were comparison shopping and considering which kitchen installer to hire, the following points made it clear to us that MCK would do the best job:
-No-one else actually came out to our house to take exact measurements and see any potential problem areas first-hand.
-We sensed an interest in the kitchen as a whole when you anticipated problems that the plumber and electrician would have. We didn't think this was your responsibility, given that you were only providing cabinets.
-You stayed after hours at your showroom on several occasions to consult with us.
-Your price quote was competitive and considered the best value by us (although it was not the lowest quote of the four we received from various installers).
Once we had decided on MCK, the high level of customer service continued, as demonstrated by the following points:
-Many revisions to our kitchen layout were made.
-Good advice was offered but the final design, specifically relating to the island and countertop, was done the way we preferred.
-A good documentation package on your products was provided.
-MCK was ready to do the installation before we were.
-There was good communication between you, the work scheduler, the carpenters and us.
-Last minute changes to the cabinetry, based on advice from our electrician, were accommodated quickly.
-The carpenters arrived right on time as scheduled and worked efficiently. Very professional!!
-The one major problem that cropped up on installation day was promptly solved satisfactorily the following morning.
After talking with friends and colleagues about their experiences, we were initially worried about the things that often go wrong during renovations. However, we had no such horror stories to tell while dealing with you. As I said, we're very pleased with our new kitchen and have no hesitation recommending MCK to friends.
